Pretty, Pretty Roxie!

(click on pictures to make them larger)

This is a watercolor that was given to my by my Mother-in-Law and was painted by one of her friends. It's of my kitty Roxie, I miss her dearly, we had to re-home her. :( She just never adjusted well to being in a multi-cat home. She is now in a wonderful, one-cat home that loves her dearly, but I still miss her...

I LOOOOVED this picture of Doodle-Head (Roxie) but was never crazy about the mat and frame colors. I am SO OCD when it comes to things color coordinating! lol I have wanted to redo the mat for a while, but money has always played a factor.

Since I was re-working my craft room, I decided it was time to do something with this frame! I broke out a can of spray paint (there was barely enough to finish the frame my husband said lol) and my acrylic craft paint and went to town! I just CAREFULLY pulled the mat apart and painted it! I did use a sponge, so the matting texture would show through.

I LOVED the way it turned out! It looks more modern, which is me, and it TOTALLY brings out the green in her eyes which the artist captured SO perfectly! I couldn't be happier! I thought I would share...

Lookin' Good!!

SO! I have weeded out much of the clutter, and just need to get some things on the walls, some good kind of paper storage (right now it's in hanging files in the cream colored cube under my desk) I will also be getting a wall unit to store embellishments and ribbon.

OH! I am getting the ink carousel from StampinUp! as well for my inks. I want to do away with the cassette tray. All-in-all, I am super happy with it! I wanted to get started on some Easter cards today, but that didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow evening!

This picture is the room from the doorway...

Panning right, we have a view of the big blank wall again. It is currently occupied by things I either need to re-home, or give away. I will be staining my old computer desk black, and putting it on this wall with a small office chair I got from work. It will be a great little workspace for guests!

Ah, yes, the fabulous feline in the window, is Little Boy.
Always ready for a close up!

Here is a view from the other side of the room, from exactly where the yellow Giraffe is sitting...

I sure hop you are enjoying this! I certainly love sharing! There is still a lot more to do, but I am SUPER excited with it so far. :) I have been really lucky to have already had the things I needed, or have been able to source them very cheaply. (for example...I returned a very pricey shower head to Lowe's we weren't happy with and got the shelves and a less expensive shower head!)

I will update more soon, and hopefully will have a couple cards done! I am super excited to play with my new "A Good Egg" stamp set. I have an addiction to embossing powders and glitter, and I have a couple ideas that I think might look super cute. :)

The Craft Room - During (Part Duex)

Okay, so here it is, coming along nicely. Still pictures need to go up. The second desk needs to come in. I need to get the wire rack hung on the wall for my stamps, and then get some vertical storage containers for all my CS. I am bringing in another little table for the printer as well. There is a TON more room on the desk, and the keyboard is now at a good height for typing. Although, I think I need to go have my eyes checked. My monitor is now far enough away that I am having a hard time reading text. LOL! Enjoy the pics, more will follow:

This part is still a mess though. Not for long!

The Craft Room - During

Whew! It's coming along, but far from complete. One of the shelves I bought from Lowes had a broken corner. That needs to go back. I am not actually sure I need it. Here is just after I moved the computer over.

That was not an easy task. Running the cables behind this desk is definitely a two person job. UNFORTUNATELY, I did have two people, but also 2 cats showed up to help the process along. (they don't know that they are not very good at actually getting things accomplished!)

Ah, Little Boy and Emma...Such good helpers...

SO between the shelf, the cats and the cords, it's no wonder I am up at 1:34 am posting this!

At least I get to sleep in a little before church!

The Craft Room - Before

What a mess!! I was starting to tear things apart to re-arrange, and decided that I should take pictures of the journey. So, really quick...here is how the room looks, as of now:

Happy Valentines Day!

Here is a cute little card I came up with. We exchanged valentines at work on Thursday (we don't work on Fridays) I decided to make mine! What better reason to use my new stamp set and stickles!!! I thought they turned out super cute. They are not a full card. Just a "post card" of sorts. On the back I cut a rectangle of Pink Pirouette, distressed the edges and wrote my message on that. SO super cute! I am sorry the pictures are blurry. I need to get better light in this room and a tiny tripod. :)

Here are a couple more pictures of the card:

Please don't mind the mess behind the card, I am currently without shelving for all my decorative stuff! I just started re-arranging my craft room, I wanted to make it more workable and really honor the space. I will have pics up soon of the rooms progress as well. :)

HELLO!!! (again)

Well! Here I am again! I decided since I hadn't posted anything to my blog in over a year, and all the info that was here, pertained to my old house, life and craft room, that I would start over! Don't worry, not much was lost. :) Just a few pictures of my old craft room re-vamp, our cats and a very enthusiastic post about how great our new (at the time) Dyson Vacuum was. (and still is!)

So! Check back soon. I am currently revamping my craft room in our new house. I have acquired a super cool cubical desk (circa 1980), an awesome comfy chair, plus shelves and other organizational items!

I will definitely post pictures soon!
